Last week was a bit crazy. On top of all our usual errands and responsibilities, we had a bunch of doctor's appointments. Here is how our week went:
Monday- We went to the hospital to get an x-ray of Noah's chest to take to the pulmonologist on Friday.
Tuesday- Both kids had check-ups with the pediatrician. Iris got 5 shots and Noah had 2.
Wednesday- Iris had a mild fever the entire day. Noah had his 1st visit to the dentist (see my last post).
Thursday- No visits to the doctor! Iris was still a little under the weather. But other than that, it was all play and fun.
Friday- Noah went to his appointment with the pulmonologist. She said that his caved chest or "pectus excavatum" is mild and not a cause for immediate concern. We need to follow up in a couple of years. However, she said that his heart looked large on the x-ray and that we should see a cardiologist. She said that it could mean a lot of different things health-wise, or it may be just a shadow on the x-ray. The one thing that concerned me a bit was that she said that caved chests are sometimes caused by a defect of the heart. We made the appointment with the cardiologist as soon as we got home and managed to stay calm and positive over the weekend (mostly because we felt that he was fine and because he has never shown signs of being ill).
Monday- At the cardiologist, he had an EKG and an ultrasound of his chest. Much to our relief, the doctor said that his heart in nice and healthy. She said that the reason it looks large on the X-ray is because it has been pushed a little to the left due to his caved chest.
So...all is well with our little boy. Our prayers were answered and we are eternally grateful for the health of our son.

My heart sunk seeing the xray and pictures of Noah at the doctors office. I can't even begin to imagine what was going through your mind while you waited for the results. He seems to not have a problem finding laughter in any situation! Noah's so lucky to have such a loving mother!
I'm so glad he's okay.
